What is a “Fiver party”?
A fiver party is simply a party where the invited guests DO NOT bring a gift! If they wish to contribute, they arrive with a card and a five-pound note.
All the five-pound notes are then gathered together and used to either contribute to the cost of the party or buy the one MAIN gift the child has requested.
Seems like a fantastic idea right? The only drawback I can see is that the child has to be old enough to understand there will be only 1 main gift (potentially purchased at a later date) which is from all their guests OR that the party itself is their gift.
Why a “Fiver party” could be right for you…
From a guests perspective, No gift, little expense and no stress…
It ensures everyone spends the same amount on a gift and they don’t have to go shopping!
If you fancy throwing a Fiver party ensure you give full details of what’s involved on the invitations, it will save lots of questions later!
