Dalby, the Great Yorkshire forest covers over 8,000 acres – perfect for fun, exploration, learning and adventure!
There are walking and cycling trails for all abilities, exciting play areas, Go Ape, bike hire, learning walks, Highway Rat trail and an Enchanted Wood. To refuel, there are two cafes plus BBQ and picnic spots.
At this time of year, there is nothing nicer than an Autumn walk, the kids love to explore and see what they can find. These finds can then be used to inspire further activities or just questions about the changing seasons and the effects on nature.
Dalby Forest is mainly an evergreen forest but does have a trail that rates in the top 10 of the Forestry Commission – The Adderstone Rigg trail (1.5 miles) Head into Dalby Forest and explore the naturally sculpted adder stone with your senses on this gentle walk. The trail follows forest paths and roads through a variety of woodland allowing you the opportunity to ease your stress. You will be met with stunning views over the forest.

These resource backpacks provide all you need to run your own successful educational visit in the forest. They are really popular with families and schools visiting Dalby.
Each activity bag contains equipment, games and resources for a class of up to 35 children and are most suitable for children aged 4-11. Each pack includes a 10 minute introduction talk from a Forest Ranger about Dalby Forest.
