Follow the neighbourhood Pumpkin Trick or Treat Trail in Scarborough, Whitby & Filey
Scarborough, Whitby & Filey Pumpkin Trail: an alternative to Trick or Treating during COVID-19
As we went into lockdown back in March, the Rainbow Trail was a brilliant idea, it gave us all something to do and an opportunity for children to explore their neighbourhood safely, spotting the rainbows.
Now that we are back at school, a bit of normality has resumed but it’s still uncertain. I have been preparing the October half term and Halloween area of the SCarborough & Whitby Mumbler website and it struck me that Trick or Treating will likely be a bit different this year.
We usually love getting dressed up and the kids love Trick or Treating in our local area, however this year the prospect of them dipping their hands in various buckets of sweets seems a bit unlikely. There are also going to be a lot more people who might not want people knocking on their doors randomly.
So, I wondered if we should start a Pumpkin Trail …
Similar to the Rainbow Trail, Children can make a pumpkin picture complete with their own scary face design, and put it in their window. We can then see how many pumpkins children can spot as they go out over Halloween.
