Life is really different now for them – only a year ago they had never sat down to a shared family meal, and regularly heard their parents arguing loudly at night when they were in bed.
Katie said it made her feel scared. Both children had suffered from neglect and differing levels of physical abuse. Sam was being taunted at school by some older boys on a regular basis, and Katie didn’t really have any friends.
Now that’s all changed – Katie is busy planning her upcoming birthday party and Sam has joined an after school junior football club – all thanks to the incredible support and love from their fostering family. Here at Fostering North Yorkshire we know how important it is to keep brothers and sisters like Sam and Katie together, and provide them with a safe and loving environment.
If you think you could you make a difference to the lives of children like Sam and Katie we’d love to hear from you – we need foster carers for children like Sam and Katie right now, and we will make sure you have the right training and support to help you turn young lives like theirs around, there’ll be development opportunities too, plus of course our generous tax free package of weekly allowances.
