“We went last week and booked everything through a small independent travel agent including the Wild West dinner show. We flew from Manchester, with Air France, into Charles De Gaulle. Manchester Airport was very busy and it took us over an hour to get through security so arrive with plenty of time. The flight itself took just over an hour and Air France were excellent. We then got the Disney express coach straight to hotel (Newport Bay), it’s really easy to find the Disney express pick up point as it is signposted throughout the Airport. If you are taking a pushchair this does not arrive on the usual baggage carousel, it will be in the oversized items area which is at the opposite end of the baggage terminal. I did look at booking Euro Disney directly but to be honest it didn’t work out any cheaper and I liked the fact that the travel agent organised it all.
We stayed in the Newport Bay Hotel, whch is one of the Disney Hotels on the Lake. The check-in staff were great and they looked after our luggage while we made the most of the park, befoe our room was ready. The only downside was once we finally got into our room we couldn’t have been further away from reception/restaurants and the wifi didn’t work. After a quick call to reception we were moved a lot closer. This hotel has a lovely indoor and outdoor pool, we made the most of this on a rainy morning; we were the only ones in the pool, the kids loved it. Breakfast was buffet style and busy but the staff again were amazing and everything ran smoothly. If you are travelling with a baby/toddler that still has milk, the Disney hotels will provide this for you free of charge, either cold or warm, at the bar as long as you take a bottle/beaker to put it in.
With staying in a Disney Hotel, you get early entry in to the park before the general public (between 9-10) not everything is open but it’s lovely and quiet with hardly any queues. This is a good time to collect your ‘fastpasses’ for the the rides like Peter Pan, Rataouille, Thunder Mountain, again the ‘fastpass’ is another perk for hotel guests and really cuts queue times. We stayed for 4 nights and felt we managed to get everything done with our children (4 and 2yrs) we took our own double pushchair which was a godsend as there is alot of walking. If you want to eat in any of the more popular restaurants, book before you go (up to 60 days) – Cafe Mickey, Chez Remy and the Princess Lunch all get booked up quickly. There is a good selection of other eateries and McDonalds & Earl of Sandwich for a quicker bite to eat.
Must see are the parade and Dreams light show, people start getting good viewing positions about an hour before, if you’ve got small children this is advised especially for the parade, they also made a great fuss of my children who where dressed as Tinkerbell and Peter Pan. This can also be said for the character meet and greats, they really go to town if the children are dressed up. We only did the parade and light show once during the week and felt this was enough, the rides were a lot quieter when these where going on.
Check out was smooth and again we dumped our luggage with them and enjoyed a couple more hours in the park, before we hopped on the Disney express back to the airport. This picked us up right outside our hotel (goes to all the Disney Hotels) and took roughly an hour. Charles De Gaulle airport was fantastic, hardly any queues and loads to do for the kids, again fab flight home with Air France which provided us with drinks and a sandwich.
We loved our break in Disney and will definitely go back, when the kids are a bit taller and can do some more of the bigger rides.” Mumbler KP 2017
“With Jet 2 holidays June 2016
Flew from Leeds Bradford – good short flight with no delays. 40 minute transfer to hotel. Airport staff very organised and helpful
Reasonable sized hotel (i.e. not too big) away from centre of resort but short walk to beach and shops. Rooms basic but functional and clean. Air conditioned but seemed to have a mind of its own. Staff all Spanish but spoke good English and always pleased to see you and nothing too much trouble. Other guests were mainly English, Irish and Scottish. Lots of Kids club activities if you want them with mini disco, and bingo every night followed by cabaret. Pools good size and not busy. We were there outside school holidays with a 1 yr old and 3 yr old and absolutely ideal as no bigger children to squash them.
Food buffet style with lots of variety and always fresh but a little basic. Overall a very good family holiday.” Mumbler recommended AN ’17
