SATURDAY 28th JULY to SUNDAY 5th AUGUST 2018
Our lovely friends at York Mumbler dropped in at this years Scarecrow Festival on their way home. They were really impressed and had great fun going round the village.
The scarecrows are brilliant and the kids loved walking round them.
They popped into the village hall for some very reasonable refreshments too!
Do pop along if you are in the area, the kids will love it and its great to support local attractions.
CAR PARKING
Throughout the duration of the festival there is a signposted car park close to the centre of the village. Cars are parked on a field made available by a local farmer, the ground is uneven and may be withdrawn during very wet weather. Every effort is made to allow disabled visitors to park their vehicles close to the car park entrance/exit. Each vehicle is charged just £2 to park all day. The car park closes at 9pm sharp at which time the farmer locks the gate to the field. Car parking on the roads in the village is restricted and very limited and we request that visitors use the car park provided. PLEASE DO NOT PARK ON GRASS VERGES OR WHERE THERE ARE ‘NO PARKING’ CONES. YOUR CONSIDERATE PARKING SUPPORTS OUR FESTIVAL AND HELPS TO SECURE ITS FUTURE!
COACHES
There is no facility for coach parking in the village. Drivers must park their vehicles at Filey Country Park after dropping their passengers in the village. The drop off point is outside the church on the main road (A1039) on the same side as the church.
REFRESHMENTS
Muston has a delightful pub, The Ship Inn, that is situated on the main road close to the car park. It serves good beers and wines and delicious meals. It also has a beer garden to the rear.
All Saints Church will be serving teas and snacks and proceeds from these sales help to maintain the building.
The Village Hall will be serving teas, coffee, cakes and savouries at very reasonable prices. Proceeds go to the Muston Millennium Committee.
Some local residents will also be offering drinks and cakes for sale from their own gardens and donating money to charities they support or the Muston Millennium Committee.
TOILETS
The Village Hall has toilets including access for disabled visitors. There are ‘portaloo’ toilets placed in the car parking field including a disabled unit. The church also has a ‘portaloo’ available for visitors.
FIRST AID
A First Aid kit will be available at the Village Hall and at the car parking field.
