For families and children there is a day packed full of fantastic interactive literary activities with a dragon-theme. Special guests include writers Cressida Cowell, Elys Dolan and Sarah Driver, illustrator Emily Gravett and poet Nick Toczek. Be ready to decorate biscuits, make crafts and music, watch a film and paint pottery as well as meet really cool authors in Malton this Saturday.

Enjoy this children’s classic before joining in a craft activity inspired by the story.
10.00 – 1.00: Zog – Story and biscuit decorating
Enjoy listening to this funny story from the creators of The Gruffalo and then decorate your own Zog biscuit to gobble-up or take-away.

This is taking place at the Rickshaw Bazaar on The Shambles with Jane and Jamie Illingworth.
11.00 and 1.00: Sir Scaly Pants and the Dragon Knight – Story and Ceramics at Peagreen Pottery
Listen to the story and paint a ceramic dragon inspired by the book.
12.00 – 1.00: Wizard School with Elys Dolan
A special Wizard Training Academy where you can make your own potions, create your own trusty sidekick and design your own spells.
1.30 – 2.30: Dragon Drawing with Emily Gravett
Draw your own dragon in this illustration workshop with an award winning illustrator.
3.00 – 4.00: Nick Toczek’s Dragon Show
Dragons-themed magic tricks, stories, puppets and some of the best dragon poems you will have ever heard.
4.30 – 5.30: The Huntress Trilogy by Sarah Driver
Join the creator of this stunning fantasy adventure for its epic and thrilling conclusion.
