  2. Gruffalo orienteering trail – try our fun, navigational challenge at Dalby Forest using a simple map to find twelve Gruffalo markers hidden in the deep, dark wood. Bonus if you spot the Gruffalo hiding in the trees!
  3. Grandfather Oak playground – Swing, climb, hide and spark their imaginations at the Grandfather Oak playground! Test your climbing skills on this fun playground with so much for the mind to explore. Hide away in our wooden teepees, clamber on the climbing frame or make your way round the playground and find your joy in the wildplay area.
  4. Go Ape Treetop Adventure – Built for the whole family, this is the ultimate tree top experience of wobbly bridges, intricate crossings and an awesome zip wire finale in Dalby Forest. The perfect high ropes course for kids as well as mum, dad and the grandparents!
  5. Life on two wheels – Get started or tune up those cycling skills with training courses for little legs, hosted by our Bike Hire partner, Dalby Forest Cycle Hub!

Fun Music sessions last around 50 minutes during which time there will be nursery rhymes, new and traditional songs, dancing and movement to music, often with props and scarves, and there’s always a chance to play on different percussion instruments.

As a special treat, Kathy always plays her flute, piccolo or saxophone in the sessions, either for jamming along to or for listening time. The children love hearing and seeing these wind instruments, and so the Fun Music sessions just fly by!

We’re back open with a baaa-ng for February Frolics this Half Term from 10th – 18th February 2024!  Get ready for a day out packed full of fun for the whole family.  We have 15 expectant mummy ewes ready to give birth this February Half Term. Watch and learn from our animal team as they deliver and care for the new arrivals and have a go at bottle feeding our lambs in sessions daily located in our undercover Animal Barn. Make sure to hold on tight, as they are very hungry!

She’s behind ewe! We have a very special guest joining us with  her friends, yes that is right Bo Peep is back with her hilarious pantomine show “Bo Peep’s Lost The Flock…the sequel”, at 12pm and 2:30pm throughout February Half Term.   Don’t be sheepish – there will be lots of audience participation and a chance to meet and green Bo and all her friends!

Take a Tractor-Trailer ride along to our Indoor Playbarn.  Your little piggies will have bundles of fun whizzing down our brightly coloured drop slide, digging for victory on wooden JCB diggers and racing their pals on Pedal Tractors. Take in the fresh February air and discover plenty of outdoor adventure this Half Term! Jump as high as the sky on Bouncing Pillows, take a ride on our Pink Barrel Train and see if you can complete our Olym-pig Assault Course in record time. You need to be on the lookout and explore all areas of Sledmere to try and spot as many of our features as you can around the Parkland, including within the Walled Garden and the Rare Breed Farm Park! Some are trickier to find than others!
Usual Parkland, Gardens and Farm Park admission applies – just pick up a clue sheet and pencil at the Ticket Office on arrival.

Thursday 15th and Friday 16th February: Childrens Willow Weaving
Timeslots from 10.20am until 3.20pm
Have a go at willow weaving and make a fish to take home!
There’s an opportunity this February Half Term at Sledmere for children to try out a new skill and learn how to willow weave with a 20 minute workshop with Janice Burley (Down 2 Earth).
Pre-book onto a time-slot and head to The Orangery at Sledmere where Janice will show you and your child what to do and then you can get weaving!
Take home your finished fish which can either be pushed into the soil in the garden or a plantpot, or hung from a piece of twine!
Usual Parkland, Gardens and Farm Park admission applies.
Tickets: £6.00 per child
Capacity is limited to just 5 children per workshop.
Children must be accompanied by an adult, with a maximum ratio of 3 children to 1 adult.

Into early February we will welcome the arrival of our stunning display of snowdrops and winter flowering bulbs.
