This Tuesday, we rushed to Scarborough for the Teddy Bears’ Picnic outside in the Scarborough Spa Suncourt. Having heard so many positive reviews, I couldn’t resist the invitation and we weren’t disappointed.
It is a quintessentially British scene with blue and white striped deck chairs and the last remaining professional seaside orchestra. The layout was very inclusive, the children can wander around, go to the front, collect a teddy or just relax. It’s great for the adults too, I found it very relaxing – sitting back on a deckchair!
There are lots of opportunities for everyone to get involved- sing along, play along and dance along. Lots of audience participation and a chance to look at the musical instruments and how they work.
Both kids really enjoyed it, Henry loves a bit of audience participation so was in his element and Eliza loves teddies and music – perfect!
It is great for all ages from baby to grandparents. It is something that grandparents can enjoy with their grandchildren. There is plenty of space and don’t worry about parking your buggy, room for that too. Perfect for when the tide is high in the middle of the day, or just a break from the beach.
One tip is plenty of water and a hat as it did get hot with the sun beating down. However, don’t worry if the weather is wet, they simply move inside!
Don’t forget Teddy for 90 minutes of musical fun! Every Tuesday afternoon until 11th September on Tuesday afternoons at 1.30pm.
Refreshments are available to purchase from the Sun Court Cafe.
