Whether you are making Christmas biscuits or looking for Christmas presents for children aged 3 – 8 years, look no further than The Little Cook Company.
The Little Cook Company has a wonderful range of kitchen utensils for children, so they can enjoy baking and get creative.
We had a busy weekend in our house having a play, it was such fun for Mum and children alike! Dad enjoyed taste testing too! The cutters are so versatile and lend themselves to different themes. We started making some Halloween biscuits and then used the same cutters for some festive Christmas baking. Here are a few ideas! The Gingerbread Man and Gingerbread Lady cutters lend themselves to Father Christmas, Elves, Fairies, Snowmen, Rudolph and of course the obvious, gingerbread men! Before that they, were used to create ghosts, Dracula and skeletons!
I used a simple gingerbread recipe:
10oz self raising flour
3 tsp ground ginger
3 tsp bicarbonate of soda
3 tbs golden syrup
3oz margarine or stork
5oz soft sugar
- Sift the flour bicarbonate of soda and ginger together
- Warm syrup, margarine and sugar
- Mix together
- Stir in the egg
- Bring together into a workable dough
- Roll out and cut to shape
- Place on baking tray covered with greaseproof paper
- Cook at 180 degrees Celsius for approx. 15 mins or until light brown.
- Allow to cool and place on wire rack
- Decorate as you wish.
The Little Cook Company stock everything from mixing bowls, whisks, spatulas, cutters and of course the all important apron and cookery books.
