It’s the time of year when lots of animals are having their babies. I am excited to tell you that my Ryeland sheep have had 7 lambs (2 boys and 5 girls). All have to be named beginning with the letter Y so we have Yogi, Yeti, Yoga, Yoyo and Yasmin so far with two yet to be named. We also have 3 foals, introducing Ted…and there is Alice and Susie.

Betton Farm – the farm animals here are always a favourite with the children especially in spring time with our newly born lambs and piglets. Lambing Weekend at Sledmere. Sat 14th April to Sun 15th April (10.00 am to 5.00 pm)
A special opportunity to meet the newest additions to the Sledmere farming family; Bottle feed little lambs, cuddle fluffy chicks and meet our newborn baby rabbits. You’ll get to see some ‘Lambing live’ streamed straight from the sheds and our Farm team will give you an insight into what’s happening on the Farm during the busy spring period. Flamingo Land – goes without saying and this Easter they are running a Zoo Trail. Complete your sheet whilst walking around our award-winning animal collection. Anyone who completes the trail will be entered into a prize draw to win a Family Annual Pass. Keep an eye out for their Sumatran tiger cub called Menya who was born last August.
Sheriff Alpacas – take part in an Alpaca Experience. Find out about alpacas, get up close and personal with them and take them for a walk across the organic farm and through the woods. They are lovely animals and this is a unique experience. If you time it right, you may see a cria (baby alpacas) born or one that has recently arrived. Adults £20, children £5. Castle Howard – visit the Easter Farmyard down at The Boathouse from Friday 30th March until Monday 2nd April. Normal admission applies.
Piglets Adventure Farm – 24th March – 15th April 2018 – As part of the Easter Egg-stravanganza Fun, there will be lambing live, lamb bottle feeding and baby chicks as well as the normal Easter fun plus much more. Monk Park Farm – there are hundreds of cute and friendly animals at Monk Park Farm! You can meet so many of our favourites whether you’re feeding the calves, stroking the guinea pigs and rabbits, feeding the lambs or petting the baby goats.
