Last year saw the Rise of the Dragon festival on Country Park which highlighted the fact that we are the only seaside town with its own mythological dragon. It was one of the high points of the festival programme so this year we decided to build on its success and present the RETURN OF THE DRAGON!!!
This will be a 2 day free event open to all and will feature more fun and excitement than ever including:
• A Viking invasion on Coble Landing
• An opening ceremony on the bandstand
• A fabulous parade through the streets of Filey leading to Country Park featuring our Filey Dragon
• Marching Bands including a pipe band
• Marauding Vikings creating chaos and mayhem
• A special performance by Local Sea Cadets
• A fantastic display of motorcycle skills featuring top motorcycle display team The Imps.
• An exciting display of horsemanship by the Stampede Stunt Company which will include their fantastic Dzhigitovka! The Way of the Cossack Warrior
• A classic car and motorbike exhibition
• A world Food Fair featuring food from around the world
• A classic tea room to enjoy your tea and scones, hopefully in the warm July sunshine!!
• A traditional funfair to entertain adults and children
• Trade stalls where traders from the local and surrounding areas can sell goods and promote their local shops, public information stands, community stalls
• A large stage where local bands and artistes will ensure the audience is entertained throughout the day and each evening there will be a top band to finish off the day.
• The first evening will feature The Rock of Ages who will entertain the audience featuring songs from Queen, David Bowie, and many more.
• The second and final evening will feature Planet Abba top European band fancy dress is optional.
• Several bars featuring Beer, Cider, Prosecco and soft drinks of course, to keep the vocal chords lubricated and much, much more to enjoy.
