Mumbler can help – join the Ryedale, Scarborough, Whitby & Filey Mumbler Chat Group. This is a great place where we can support each other as we go through the daily struggles of parent hood. Do ask if you are looking for a fellow parent to do something with. These posts always get a fantastic reaction. If you don’t feel like you would like to post it yourself, I am happy to post it anonymously.
These 5 things can help mental well being and here is how us, as Mum’s can help…
Give to others – Even the smallest act can count whether it’s a smile, a thank you or a kind word. Have a chat with the new Mum who comes to playgroup looking nervous. It may have been a massive effort for her to get to the playgroup and a friendly chat or smile will make her day, making the effort seem worthwhile. Weekly Classes page may help – visit the website HERE
Connect – Connect with the people around you: your family, friends, colleagues and neighbours. Spend time developing these relationships. Again this can be fellow Mum’s at Playgroup, Activities, the Nursery door etc. A smile and a few words can go a long way.
Be active – Take a walk, go cycling or play a game of football. Find an activity that you enjoy and make it a part of your life. There a some lovely adult fitness classes were you can take you baby along with you. Suggestions HERE
Keep learning – Learning new skills can give you a sense of achievement and a new confidence.
Be mindful – Be more aware of the present moment, including your thoughts and feelings, your body and the world around you.
Do share this with your friends and hold out a helping hand.
