Fyling Hall School is a small, incredibly friendly, non-selective, school for pupils aged 4 to 18. Our guaranteed small class sizes (no more than 12 in the Early Years, 15 in the Senior School and about 5 at A Level) means that we offer a truly individual approach to teaching and learning. Our older pupils enjoy unparalleled flexibility in subject choices.
Fyling Hall is proud to offer an independent education at affordable fees- starting from just £2310 per term. There are also free school buses from Whitby, Scarborough and surrounding areas to make parents’ lives easier.
Making the most of our beautiful location and getting out in nature is important – we have a full enrichment programme of clubs and activities, weekly forest school up to year 6, countless fieldwork trips and visits, outdoor lessons, camps, breaks are spent in our exciting playground or beautiful gardens and our onsite stables, offer optional horse-riding during games lessons.
“The pupils’ personal development is outstanding; from the earliest age they are willing to take on responsibility. Older pupils look after younger ones and the whole school community works as a large family.” (ISI Inspection)
Fyling Hall pupils nearly always exceed predicted grades and baseline scores with our focus on each individual achieving their own personal best and a wonderful Educational Support Department for those that need it.
Junior School students have swimming, specialist senior school teachers, use of all senior school facilities and enjoy a seamless transition to our Senior School. In the Senior School we offer practical-based industry specific performing arts qualifications, GCSEs, A-Levels, EPQ, ceramics and photography options, our Making a Difference programme, a dedicated sixth form centre, and in 2023 100% of those applying to university received a place on their first choice university course.
