Where we used to live, we always loved the bus! Big fan of a top deck bus trip! The kids love it as they can really see what is going on!
I also love going on the bus myself. There’s no stress about where to park, whether I’ve got change for parking or if it will it accept my card, there’s no worries about driving and getting lost and, currently, actually getting anywhere with the awful traffic.
I have always loved open topped buses and the Scarborough Beachcomber is a must visit. They run from The Spa in South Bay to The Sands in North Bay, then they’ll continue past North Bay Railway, Peasholm Park and Alpamare to SEA LIFE approx every 12 minutes at busy times, and every 20 minutes at quieter times of year. Views out over the bay are amazing, and you can hop on and off the bus as many times as you want. Not bad for £5 for an adult day ticket, or £3 for a child or concessionary passholder. Up to four people of any age can travel together for just £12 with our great value group ticket.
We haven’t really thought of using the bus for other trips. East Yorkshire buses got in touch and told me about some other places they travel to, ideal for making longer journeys and to enjoy some of our local days out as they open up again. It’s given me a lot of ideas for the half term holidays, here are some options (with links for more info):
