Core Yoga Hypnobirthing

Teaching pregnancy yoga I noticed how receptive pregnant ladies were to deep relaxation, breathing techniques and visualisations. I had such positive feedback from the benefits of this in pregnancy and birth that I wanted to learn more. After reading about hypnobirthing I knew I had found what I was looking for and the Katharine Graves course fulfilled everything I had hoped for.

Hypnobirthing is a complete package for birth preparation, not only teaching mothers or couples all about the birthing process, but how to enjoy the experience and bring baby into the world in a calm, drug free way. Fathers or birthing partners are shown the importance of their role and are given all the tools to help and support in an effective way. Practising the techniques together forms strong bonds between mother, father and baby. The course covers such diverse, yet important topics from “how to understand the health care options available and making the right choices” to “massage”, from “the power of the mind” to “water births”. The course is relaxed and enjoyable and the positive outlook and energy that forms the backbone of the learning experience ensures you leave feeling confident and smiling.

The course is 12 hours and is run as 4 sessions, usually over 2 days. On reserving a place on a class you will be sent the Hypnobirthing Relaxation CD, Colour and Calmness. At the class you will also be given The Hypnobirthing Book and a folder of handouts to guide your practice at home. After the class I am there for you to answer questions by phone or email.

Hope Anchors The Soul

About me

I am a mum to 7 children, I have had various voluntary roles surrounding antenatal and post natal care for 6 years with a keen interest in breastfeeding.
I am a facilitator for our local Attachment Parenting Uk group and a regional coordinator.
I am very passionate about nurturing from the beginning and giving a continuity of care.
I want women to feel empowered by their own body and know that I am there to listen and advocate them.
I will provide information and enable you to make informed choices so your transition into motherhood is as smooth as possible
I will hold your space and be your voice if you require me, or I can simply hold your hand, protecting your space, for you to birth freely.

I can link you to birth preparation classes, massage and holistic care that I’ve personally encountered and can recommend.

My Services –
My main package will include 2 antenatal meets where we will discuss birth options, I have lots of literature and DVD’s you can borrow to help make informed decisions. I have a homeopathic birth kit you can look through and can link you with birth pool hire if you’d wish.

I can help host a mother ceremony, where we will shower you in guidance, it’s a lovely way to celebrate your upcoming birth, the transition from woman to mother.

I will be on call for 4 weeks surrounding your due date, and will stay with you until you feel confident with your chosen feeding and you are both comfortable.

I then will see you once post natally as part of my package but can be seen more if required.

I am here to support you and your family both emotionally and practically, I can never speak for you, but can back anything you choose to do and will repeat your wishes as often as needed.

Postnatal –
I can offer as many sessions as you require, sometimes just a few reassurance meets is sufficient, doing some meal making or simply coming with you as you venture outside.
I will be here to help emotionally and practically as you wish to have a positive start with your new family.

*Packages can be tailored made to suit

Ryedale Hypnotherapy

Hypnobirthing teaches you breathing, visualisation, and powerful Hypnosis techniques. These enable you to take control and remain calm, confident and in control during your baby’s labour, birth, and beyond. In essence, to have the best possible birth for you, your Partner and your baby. Hypnobirthing has grown massively in the last ten years due to the fact it works and most Midwives are fully supportive of it.

I am your local Teacher, a Hypnobirthing mum of two myself and a qualified and experienced Clinical Hypnotherapist. I have been teaching Hypnobirthing locally for seven years now. I cover Malton, Scarborough and the wider Ryedale area. I have trained in both Marie Mongan and Katharine Graves Hypnobirthing methods. My skills as a Hypnotherapist mean I can also help you with other minor pregnancy issues should you need it e.g. sleep problems, discomfort or other.

Classes are normally held at my quiet, purpose built Hypnotherapy room in Norton, Malton or in couples own home if they prefer. They are usually held on a Monday or Thursday evening or Saturday mornings or alternative by prior arrangements.

There are a few options with the Hypnobirthing I offer. There is a full Katharine Graves Hypnobirthing and antenatal course which is 12.5 hours usually delivered in 5 x 2.5 hour time slots. I also offer shorter, condensed versions to suit your requirements. I want as many parents-to-be to be able to have the benefits of Hypnobirthing if they would like to.

It is recommended to begin Hypnobirthing from 24 – 32 weeks into pregnancy.

Cost on application.

NCT

Because NCT has nearly 60 years’ experience in supporting new mums and dads, you can rely on our range of courses to support you through pregnancy, birth and your new life as a parent.
All NCT courses are led by specially trained and experienced practitioners who understand what matters to new mums and dads. And don’t forget, every NCT course gives you the opportunity to meet other parents in your area.
In the NCT Signature antenatal course more than half of the course covers the birth of the baby, plus plenty of time to explore questions, hopes and anxieties in a safe and supportive space. Courses feature information about pregnancy, birth and becoming a parent, with content tailored to the needs of the small group taking part. The courses are usually 18 hours in length and include a dedicated session on breastfeeding and an information pack to take away with you.
Our NCT Essentials antenatal course is our newest course. It’s the shorter and most affordable antenatal course we offer. Every course follows the same, important six themes delivered over six 2-hour sessions. On this course parents will get practical information and emotional support for pregnancy, plus the knowledge and techniques to prepare for the birth of the baby. About half of this course covers important information to help care for the baby.
Everyone is welcome to pay by instalments and we offer discounts for parents in receipt of benefits or on lower incomes. Please request further information from the course organiser when you enquire about your course.
