STEP BACK IN TIME & EXPERIENCE WW2

Embark on a family-friendly adventure to Eden Camp Modern History Theme Museum, where you’ll be taken on a journey back in time to explore the sights, sounds, and even the smells of what life was like on both the Home Front and Front Line during the Second World War.

Situated in the original building and grounds of a Prisoner of War camp, families will discover personal tributes and unique stories through immersive displays covering various aspects such as The Blitz, the Street at War (with rationing and fashions), the Home Guard, Evacuation, the Battle of Britain, and VE & VJ Day in the first half of the museum. The second half covers world conflicts and battles, including World War One and Two, as well as the role played by British military forces worldwide since 1945.

Our Gift Shop and catering facilities are provided in the NAAFI Cafe, Officers Tea-rooms and Garrison Cinema Bar. There’ s also a Junior Assault course and play area where new recruits and would be Commandos can let off steam (weather permitting). Free on-site car parking and dog friendly. You can also visit our Online Gift Shop to take your memories home!

We are open from 10am until 5.00pm, 7 days a week from 23 March to 3 November 2024 with free on-site car and coach parking is available. Plan for at least three to four hours for an average visit, and rest assured, we are dog friendly.

The size and level of detail will amaze you, from the Mini Village credit card (which each child gets to keep) to the “working” checkout counters, washing machine and ovens, to the awesome ice cream van. Visit our wonderful animals in the animal barn, the Piglets Maternity Ward is a must see to get up close and watch the new born piglets nestling into mum! Listen to our animal handlers talk about how we look after all our furry friends, at our daily “Animal Encounters” sessions. We have a special SEND session each day at 4pm also! Jump for joy on the bouncy pillows, we have a dedicated bouncy pillow just for the under 5’s that all toddlers love! At Easter our fabulous Beach and Fairy Tale Trails will re-open.

Take a tractor and trailer ride up to our super Indoor Play Barn. Adults can grab a coffee and a snack whilst the children get to play on our fabulous farm themed play equipment. The Indoor Play Barn is perfect for when the weather is a little chilly. Scramble over our Olym-Pig Assault Course or take a swing at mini golf. For all the budding little farmers there is the tractor driving area and Dig and Play sand construction zone.

Castle Howard

There’s acres of fun to get lost in and lots of wildlife to discover. Duncombe Park

Duncombe Park is one of Yorkshire’s finest historic houses and estates, and home to the Duncombe family.

National Centre for Birds of Prey

The National Centre for Birds of Prey is the largest collection of these amazing birds in the north of England. A huge collection of owls, eagles, falcons, hawks, vultures and more are housed in spacious aviaries on our 12 acre site.
