A Creepy Halloween at Castle Howard

Saturday 27th October – Sunday 4th November 2018

Join us at Castle Howard this October half term for a Halloween experience like no other.

The House and Grounds have be taken over by a gang of ghostly pirates and ghoulish zombies and they’re on the lookout for new recruits!

Hidden deep within Castle Howard’s burnt out wing lies the ancient cure to zombification. whilst somewhere amongst the twisting woodland paths is a hoard of lost Pirate treasure waiting to be unearthed. And there’s about to be an epic clash between the two camps of the living dead.

But which team will you join? #TeamPirate or #TeamZombie?

Families of all ages can enjoy a day of indoor and outdoor trails, solving clues along the way, taking part in craft activities and joining fun workshops to learn the ways of the zombies and the pirates, before a daily battle commences. Why not dress the part (think Captain Jack Sparrow, Swashbuckle right through to Dawn of the Dead).

Stig of the Dump at The Round Theatre

30 October – 3 November 2018

Barney is BORED.

His sister is too cool to play with him and his grandparents have stuff to do, newspapers to read, you know, grown-up stuff. So what does any bored kid do? Exactly what the ‘grown-ups’ tell him not to do. Suddenly Barney finds himself falling down into a chalk pit where he gets far more than he bargains for…

He meets Stig. A boy from a forgotten time. A CAVEMAN!

Somehow the two get on just fine without words and have the most amazing adventures. This lively, fun, exciting performance comes to you from the same team that brought you George’s Marvellous Medicine.

Stig of the Dump, adapted by Mike Kenny (The Railway Children) is a classic tale that stands the test of time and feels as fresh as it did on the day it was written.
