Our Halloween Trail awaits intrepid visitors at Burton Agnes Hall! Friday 23rd October to Sunday 1st November, 11am – 4pm daily
This half term, join us in a (spacious and socially distant!) hunt around the peaceful yet eerily atmospheric woodland, finding a frightfully fun series of handcrafted scenes. Each dramatic scene asks a single question and bears a freaky fact. Watch skeletons playing croquet, spot a pirates’ coffin floating on the pond, duck under a witches’ washing line and creep around spooky scenes aplenty. Decipher the full trail of spooky clues and enjoy your eerie treat!
There’s a hunt for Seven Spooky Sacks in the woodland garden, a witches’ hut as a fun backdrop for family photos and each child will enjoy a bumper trail sheet with activities to complete.
Alongside the Halloween Trail, romp in the spine-tingling woodland adventure playground with its nine fabulous swings, tower with corkscrew slide and double zip wire and enjoy refreshments in the stableyard.
Designed for all the family to enjoy. Dogs are welcome too! There’s no extra charge for the trail, admission is included in the normal Gardens price (free for Burton Agnes Hall members): Adults £8.00, Seniors £7.50, Children (4-15 years) £5.50, Under 4s free. Family tickets from £14.50.
No need to pre book. However, if extremely busy, numbers will be limited so visitors may wish to book via the website to guarantee entry.

Autumn decorated grotto for half term.
Due to social distancing we can’t do our gentle guided lantern walks this year, however the pixies are making an autumn decorated grotto as part of general admission from the 21st of October.
Northwood Trail is nestled in a 100 acre wood at Buttercrambe close to York and this delightful woodland fairy sanctuary is the first of its kind in the world. The eco-aware sanctuary is off grid and, quite uniquely, designed to appeal to adults as much as children. As well as a beautiful woodland trail, it also includes an intriguing Fairy Museum, to display what is believed to be the world’s largest collection of fairy artefacts, collected over many years by owners Carolyn and Christian.
Northwood is about fostering a connection to nature, at its most beautiful and magical. The woodland trail winds through 1.5km of old fairy paths, peppered with fairy tree houses, stump houses, a willow walled maze and Elven thrones. There is also a natural play area for smaller children and den building for older kids.
In keeping with the sustainable ethos, a stylish woodland kitchen will be serving organic teas and coffees as well as healthy and delicious local food.
Please note, as car parking is limited tickets are only available online, with pre allocated slots making for a calmer experience.

Find out more on the NSPCC website.
This is our first Holiday Camp, so having your help in spreading the word and getting as many people involved as possible would be amazing.
Holiday Camp is free to join and perfect for families with primary school age children who are looking for something fun to do during the half-term holiday. There’s the option for participants to donate too, with all money raised helping us to still be here for children.
