If you are feeling brave this half term, why not venture over to Burton Agnes Hall and take part in their spooky woodland trail?
Every Halloween, fearless visitors are welcomed to an eerie hunt round the Hall’s atmospheric woodland, where clues are hidden amidst dramatic and creative spooky Halloween scenes, with fishing skeletons and much more new for 2019! Once the entire puzzle has been solved, a treat awaits in the Gift Shop.
After the thrill of the spooky woodland trail, visitors can relax in the comfort of the courtyard and enjoy homemade meals, light bites and indulgent treats in the café, while the courtyard shops will be brimming with original gifts and seasonal and Yorkshire-made produce. Visitors can also choose from a range of home grown plants, propagated from the gardens.
The spooky Halloween woodland trail runs from 26th October to 3rd November and is designed for all the family to enjoy. There is no extra charge for the trail: admission is included in the normal Gardens price and is free for Burton Agnes Hall members.

Will you enter the depths of Dalby to experience true ‘Fear in the forest’? If you dare, explore the spooky woodland and strange goings-on along our Halloween trail. What awaits in the Tunnel of Terror? Who lurks in the dark and what tales will they share?
Come along to meet a rogues’ gallery of despicable characters which include Spooky Spectres and Gruesome Ghouls. Wicked plots will be threaded together by twisted storytellers from Lady Lumley’s School, gifted in the dark arts of horror and suspense!
There is also live bats and creepy crafts.
It’s a family friendly evening out – the walk itself is suitable for those aged 5 and over with a parent or guardian (under 5’s at parental discretion are free of charge and do not require a ticket) .
We encourage brave visitors to join in the fearsome fun by wearing fancy dress! Remember to bring a torch and wear sturdy footwear.

Cast light on a dark history this Halloween! See Bram Stoker’s inspiration in a new light as Whitby Abbey is bathed in dramatic illuminations once again. Have your camera at the ready as you explore the gothic splendour of the ruins lit up with all the colours of the rainbow.

Ghost Story Writing Workshop
There’s a creative writing ghost stories workshop for children aged 7-12 on Friday 1 November from 10.30am – 12 noon. Leader Rosie Liddle says, “We will be exploring the ghosts & ghouls of Scarborough Castle. What do they want and can we ever escape their grasp?” Places are just £2 per child.

We all like to dress up for Halloween and what better place than Whitby to go trick or treating this All Hallows’ Eve. Come and join in the fun aboard the ship 4.30pm-6.30pm for a spookily good dining experience.
We’ve got lots of games, activities and spine chillingly good Halloween themed food to enjoy. Feel free to come in fancy dress, as there’ll be a prize for the best dressed adult, best dressed child and best dressed family.
Adults £20 – includes a 2 course dinner.
Children £12 – includes a 2 course dinner, a Halloween mocktail, games and activities and a trick or treat bag of goodies to take home.
